Workshop: Hand Block Printing

Join us in this art Gallery setting and learn the ancient art of Indian Block Printing in an immersive hand-on session led by Karvishi Agarwal, founder of the Berlin-based design studio Esoraa. Working with hand-carved wooden blocks and colorful pigments, participants will explore the rhythm of repetition, pattern, and imperfection that defines this centuries-old textile art. You’ll learn to print on fabric, experiment with composition and color, and gain an intimate understanding of how handcrafted design takes shape; one print at a time. 

Print initially on paper, then a cotton material and finally on your own tote bag. With Christmas knocking at the door, this could make a very nice Gift Packaging which is recyclable. There will be a selection of graphic and festive blocks available to print with. All material is provided.

You will first have a demonstration, and then you will practice on an old fabric until you are ready to create your own designs. Please wear old clothes or bring an apron! All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is needed; just bring curiosity for texture, pattern, and the beauty of slow, deliberate making.

Leave with your own hand-printed tote bag and a deeper appreciation for the process that connects craft, design, and storytelling.
